Been awhile

Spring is here I think . . . We had a real rain down pour this evening, that will stop all the seeding :(  What is new at Workwize Morgans? well Major our Juniour stallion has gone in for training and has one week under his cinch. He is doing just fine, Al is taking good care of him. The horses at the feedlot are learning lots, Moon has been there since Jan 4th. I just took Vic there and will ride him this week. Have to take some pictures to post.

We are almost done calving, have about 10 left to calve. got to post some pictues of those cute calves :)

Saturday morning . . .

Well Sat morning 7:40 am and out we go, -19 C and a wind, but out we go. We have quite a few cows on the place right now, have been building 2 groups to put in the feedlot to finish and our well and cistern are having a hard time keeping up. Had to shut the pump off last night to let the well catch up. Soooo, this morning when we turn the pump back on some of the waterers out there will be frozen (valves and floats) we have to take pails of hot water and pour in waterers to unthaw them. Well most of these cattle are going next Saturday.

Finally weaned Karenza Alice's foal yesterday, seems to have went well. I have lots of office work that needs to be done, so I think that is where I will spend most of today.

A new begining . . .

This going to be fun! Posting the on going  life here at Workwize Morgans and all our cattle. This lifestyle looks great from the outside .. . . and it is, I would not trade it for anything!!! But there are lots of things we have to contend with that the onlooker has no idea about. So here goes, may not get back to this for a few days . . .
